In a long and varied career he has worked in film, TV, digital media and publishing, and advised multinationals, international organisations and governments in more than thirty countries.
He has written several books, including the acclaimed The Creative Economy (2001), Creative Ecologies (2010). His latest, Invisible Work: The Future of the Office is in Your Head, was published in 2020.
John was chairman of BOP Consulting from 2007 to 2011. He is a visiting professor at both City University in London and the Shanghai School of Creativity, and is a member of the board of the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
John is an internationally renowned consultant and thinker on creativity.
