NDT Broadgate, Supporting Artists in a Post Pandemic London
British Land and New Diorama Theatre reveal the substantial social and economic impact of their 12 month-long NDT Broadgate initiative, which saw 20,000sq ft of creative space provided to over 8,800 independent and freelance artists free of charge over 2021-2022.

The partnership between the two organisations facilitated artists using these spaces to produce 250 original shows, many of which have gone on to be shown on the West End and all over the UK.
It also helped to create a thriving development at a difficult time. Restaurants, and bars close to NDT Broadgate benefited from nearly double the sales uplift of other retailers across the complex. By attributing this impact to the project, substantial economic impact was demonstrated, resulting in a GVA over £27m.
We are delighted to have conducted the economic impact assessment for this project and see it as a strong example of effective partnership in a post-pandemic, global city.
